FAQs (frequently asked questions about art)

Q?What bronze foundry do you use?
A.

I use American Fine Arts Foundry for about 95% of my bronzes. They are very consistant and never take short cuts on my projects. Moreover, they do not use reclaimed wax. Everyone at the foundry is very friendly and helpful. I have been using them for several years now.

Q?What clay do you use for your sculptures?
A.

I use Chavant NSP Hard for 98% of my sculptures. The clay is sulphur free which helps when fabricating a mold. Clay that contain sulphur must be sealed well in order to avoid contact with the silicone. In 2013 I began to use Super Sculpey Firm. Further, I like using the harder clay because they tend to keep their shape better. Softer clays tend to pick up finger marks and tool marks. I am hands-on when working with the sculptures; therefore, I like to place them on bubble wrap while I work on all sides of the sculpts.
